TIME MANAGEMENT

** **

A time-management expert set a gallon mason jar on a table in front of the class he was teaching. He carefully placed a dozen fist-sized rocks into the jar. “Is the jar full?” he asked. The class responded with one voice, “Yes.” Then he said, “Really?” He reached under the table and pulled out a bucket of gravel. He dumped some of it into the jar, and the pieces worked their way into the spaces between the large rocks. “Is the jar full?” he asked. Some responded, “Probably not.” The teacher then brought out a bucket of sand. He dumped sand into the jar, allowing it to settle in the spaces between rocks and gravel. “Now is the jar full?” The class responded, “No!” Good said the teacher as he poured water into the brim.****

“Now,” he said, “what is the point of this illustration?” One student quickly responded, “No matter how full your schedule, you can always fit in something else.” “No”, the teacher replied. “The truth of the illustration is this: If you don’t put the big rocks in first, you’ll never get them in at all.” When you make God your most important priority, everything else falls into place. Matthew 6:33; But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
